This year the venue for Akhand Bhajan was the sacred abode of Sri Ramnath, situated admist the ancient temples of Goa at ponda (ramnathi). The samiti of Ponda were hosting the program. In the hall of Ramnath temple all the arrangements were made. The stage was beautiful decorated with crafts and curtains. Two huge frames of Shridi and Sathya sai baba stood on that was garlanded with flowers.

At 5:45 pm, the Sai Jyoti arrived at Shri Ramnath temple. From there, the Sai Jyoti was carried to the Bhajan hall with veda chantings hymned by the balvikas students. After the installation of sai jyoti on the stage, the Akahnda bhajan began. Lips sang and hands clapped in the melodies. Sai Youths joined in with zeal during their schedule and filled the hall with ecstasy. The Sai Jyoti is Swami’s blessing upon us. Karmali Samiti got the privilege as the first samiti to host the ‘Sai Jyoti’. On Sunday (26th Oct) they organized ‘Sri Sathya Sai Samuhik Sathya Narayana Katha- Mahapuja’ in the temple of Shri Shirdi Sai Baba at Ribandar. Sri Sathya Sai Samuhik Sathya Narayana Katha is just like Sathya Narayana Katha, but instead of Lord Sathyanarayana’s phot, we place his incarnation’s photo- i.e. Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba. Also it was a mass mahapuja. Around 83 couples performed the puja taking Sai jyoti as witness.
Early morning, Karmali samiti had made necessary arrangements like decoration and placing of swami’s photos, lamps and utensils for about 83 couples and about 16 singles who were going to take part in the mahapuja. ‘Sai Jyoti’ was enthroned near the altar of Shri Sai Baba’s marble statue. In the open hall, the duo photo of Shirdi and Sathya Sai Baba was installed in a mandap with small banana plants on either sides. The program began at the sacred mahuratha and the head priest gave the necessary instructions to the couples with the help of microphone.
After the Mahapuja, Dr. Arun Bhobe, the District president of Goa Samiti explained the significance of Sai Jyoti and the Sai Sathya Narayana Mahapuja to the couples and told them to follow the path of Love and Dharma. This was followed by bhajan and prasadam, which included lunch.

It was an unexpected and special gift from Swami this Deepawali. The lamp lit from the Akhand Jyoti of Dharmashketra was given to the Sai devotees to bring it to Goa and let it pass from one samiti to other.
On 18th of October at Dharmasketra, there was a meeting of all the Maharashtra and Goa Sai samiti districts youth coordinators to discuss on the forthcoming Sai Youth Yatra to Puttaparthi scheduled on 2nd – 5th Jan 09. While returning they came with the ‘Sai Jyoti’. Traveling about 650 kms the Sai youths brought the ‘Sai Jyoti’ to Karmali. This Sai jyoti will be passed on to all the samitis in the state of Goa and later taken to Puttaparthi before Swami. Each samiti would carry out various programs when the ‘Sai Jyoti’ would stay with them. The Sai Jyoti will stay in each Samiti for an about nine days.
Everyday, the Sai Jyoti will travel from one house to other. And every evening devotees would gather and chant the following:-
* Aumkar
*Chanting of vedam (preferably Rudram)- 15 mins.
*Chanting of Sai Gayatri – 10 mins.
*Hanuman Chalisa – 10 mins.
*Ram raksha – 10 mins
*Mahalaxmi Astha suktam- 2 mins
* Aarti
If time favours bhajans, meditation, study circle and satsang can be added to the program. Join in the programs and seva activities and attain the joy Swami wants to gift you.
